Some of these dictionaries are useful to me, but I’ve noticed that many dictionaries do not indicate their sources and are just provided as compressed files. Could you please tell me how I can find the source of a dictionary?

The sources are different - from forums through sites, publications on various websites, even torrents, Telegram-channels, DC++ and eMule. Files have also been sent to us by individuals; the original archive was compiled from two already dead non-public servers. We have collected dictionaries from wherever we can. We cannot provide a source for every dictionary, especially since some of the sources are not public and some of the archives are compiled from more than one source. Moreover, it is absolutely unnecessary and a huge amount of work. Use it or not, you decide. You can also look at this file - it lists some (but not even close to all) of the sources:
P.S. If you decide to help us grow our collection, we will be grateful and will gladly upload your dictionary(s) too.

I don’t see any point in uploading multiple versions of the same dictionary - it takes up a lot of space…

these one has like 400k search entries
u can search phrases not only words like this:
(have a hunch) and it will open the entry
Have you tried the Full text search option?
FreeMdict Cloud has a new mirror. The two old mirrors continue to functioning. The creation of the new mirror was necessary due to the overload of the other two file hostings, although not permanent. In addition, the site allows the use of download managers, which is not possible with the other two hostings. So, if you find a missing file somewhere, please let me know (the site has problems with indexing files, it skips a lot of files when uploading and they have to be uploaded in several upload rounds or manually).
I don’t know how long and how well it will work, but I hope it will provide faster downloads and ease the work of the FreeMdict server.

So. I’m afraid that the FreeMdict mirror on wangpan.de will no longer be updated - this is another account of the sites huang1111, 99699 and WangPan, which after a while simply imposes restrictions for no reason. I can’t no more upload, edit or delete files there. Some time ago the same thing happened with huang1111, where they simply blocked my account, with 99699, now here too… The two old mirrors on Cloud.FreeMdict.com and Cloud.Mail.ru remain working. I tried to provide the possibility of quick download, but again it didn’t work. Files uploaded up to today (for now) remain accessible.
