[词典讯] OALD11 正式出版

印度已经正式出版了《牛津高阶英语词典》第11版（OALD11）。

官方确认：牛津大学出版社（OUP）印度官网已经列出了 Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary 11th Edition，确认其为官方出版物。
发布时间：该版本于 2026年1月起在印度市场陆续上市。
购买渠道：目前在 Amazon.in 等大型电商平台上可以找到由 Oxford University Press 直接销售的精装版（HB）和简装版（PB）。
新版特性：
收录了超过 180,000 个单词、短语和释义。
新增了 2,000+ 个新词和新义，如 doomscrolling（末日刷屏）、side hustle（副业）等。
特别加强了对世界英语（World English）的覆盖，包括来自印度、东南亚、非洲等地区的英语词汇。

I checked the official site. They have updated the online dictionray and contains words like

only missing word is: mandi
which i think is Indian word (borrowed from thier language.)

Kindle can’t have online dictionary, which is free for us to use online.

Oxford English-Chinese Dictionaries app by OUP Hong Kong has already included all these words except mandi, with Chinese translation for definitions and examples.
As for mandi, I wonder what its definition will be in OALD11, as it can refer to either a traditional Arabic dish or an Indian market.

Could be both. since the dictionray is available on OUP India. It will definietly contain Indian Definition for sure.

I agree that the indian meaning has a better chance, as India is an English speaking country and their local words may be more influencial among the dictionary editors. Furthermore, it’s highly possible that most OALD11 copies will be printed in India, the same as the latest editions of Collins COBUILD and Merriam Webster’s Collegiate.

是的，香港牛津的中文版已经包含了绝大部分的新词和新释义，可以说这次中文版抢先了一步，早在10th就用上了11th的内容

Mandi has two possible definition as signs mentioned above. The online version has not recorded it yet. It has become same as movies/torrents. Release digital copies after paperback / hardcover get the target revenue. So, yes they may release it online, but after doing some business
