FreeMdict is a wonderful place where there may already exist what you wish for. I got aware that there is already the text mdx made and shared under the name “Oxford Student’s Dictionary” at Oxford Student’s Dictionary and Oxford Student’s Dictionary - FreeMdict .
I am still posting this topic to give more light on such a great dictionary series, just like the other topic I posted around 2 months ago for the title “Longman New Junior English Dictionary”.
Hopefully, someone will make the corresponding image mdx in the future.
I am optimistic about this, especially after I saw the huge advance in techniques to make image mdx in the following topic.
I guess, it should be quite easy if the right tools are at hand.
Why the image mdx might be interesting?
1. although under the same title, the contents are not the same between the ISO and paper prints.
2. the paper prints have a lot of additional translations that may be combined into one to make a tabbed multilingual mdx.
It is a also finding after I got the question as I asked in the other topic.
It was a trigger. And fortunately, I got the answer by finding in Oxford English-English-Hindi Dictionary.
Starting from here, there comes a whole new world. The name “Oxford Student’s Dictionary” could be in fact an universe. There are Oxford English-English-Urdu, English-English-Hindi, English-English-Arabic, English-English-Persian and many other dictionaries directly from the Oxford University Press and third-party English-English-Chinese dictionary plausibly based on the “Oxford Student’s Dictionary”.
The whole series can be found by searching in Anna’s archive:
https://annas-archive.org/search?q=Oxford+Student's+Dictionary
There are already many different versions / editions available.
Notably, for those who would like to have a try of making image mdx, there is Oxford English-English-Hindi Dictionary available in Anna’s Archive at English-English-Hindi Dictionary (Multilingual Edition) - Anna’s Archive and, if I am not guessing wrong, also English-English-Chinese Dictionary.
If there is a tabbed multilingual image mdx of “Oxford Student’s Dictionary”, how could it be like?
