With more than 170,000 words and phrases, and more than 240,000 definitions, the Macquarie Dictionary offers a comprehensive and authoritative record of Australian English. Updated every six months, Macquarie is also an up-to-date documentation of our language.

The design of the Macquarie database allows great flexibility in data curation. We can include specified types of entry (such as those with a Colloquial label, entries from Australian Indigenous languages, etc.) or specified parts of an entry, such as etymologies, idiomatic phrases, etc.

It can be provided in HTML, XML or CSV format.
