They all helped create the Oxford English Dictionary. The Oxford English Dictionary has long been associated with elite institutions and Victorian men. But the Dictionary didn’t just belong to the experts; it relied on contributions from members of the public. By 1928, its 414,825 entries had been crowdsourced from a surprising and diverse group of people, from astronomers to murderers, naturists, pornographers, suffragists and queer couples. Lexicographer Sarah Ogilvie dives deep into previously untapped archives to tell a people’s history of the OED. Here, she reveals, for the first time, the full story of the making of one of the most famous books in the world - and celebrates the extraordinary efforts of the Dictionary People. **作者简介** ： **Sarah Ogilvie** teaches at the University of Oxford, and specializes in language, dictionaries, and technology. As a lexicographer she has been an editor at the Oxford English Dictionary and was Chief Editor of Oxford Dictionaries in Australia. As a technologist she has worked in Silicon Valley at Lab 126, Amazon’s innovation lab, where she was part of the team that developed the Kindle. She originally studied computer science and mathematics before taking her doctorate in Linguistics at the University of Oxford, and then taught at Cambridge and Stanford. **本站下载** ： [The Dictionary People The Unsung Heroes Who Created the Oxford English Dictionary (Sarah Ogilvie) .epub.zip.003](https://forum.freemdict.com/uploads/short-url/iNcdlTVvoiItS88GKzUCt8qpsEU.003) (6.5 MB) [The Dictionary People The Unsung Heroes Who Created the Oxford English Dictionary (Sarah Ogilvie) .epub.zip.002](https://forum.freemdict.com/uploads/short-url/f4c5snbxa6Iw6lXJbVZL7jR9z1K.002) (11.4 MB) [The Dictionary People The Unsung Heroes Who Created the Oxford English Dictionary (Sarah Ogilvie) .epub.zip.001](https://forum.freemdict.com/uploads/short-url/zPbwPS8up3PO8h8tILfLPUwUqWN.001) (11.4 MB) **注：ZLibrary 现在接受版权商的投诉，柯林斯和牛津的很多词典已经下架了。** > [@Ten Myths About Israel (Ilan Pappe)](https://forum.freemdict.com/t/topic/24183): > > 书籍详情 名称：Ten Myths About Israel 出版社：Verso 作者：Ilan Pappé ISBN：9781786630193 相关语言：英语 下载 本站下载： [Ten Myths About Israel (Ilan Pappe).epub](https://forum.freemdict.com/uploads/short-url/ph5I3iK1lWgOZUFDqwDGdV9mB6H.epub) (744.1 KB) 此书的出版商最近在推上提供免费的电子书下载。 另分享繁体版供对照参考： [這才是以色列：揭露歷史謊…](https://forum.freemdict.com/uploads/short-url/rD1LCV1f5VLmRZ9ulVq7QiLOBTM.epub) ---
