感谢本坛多位大佬最近为COD9( 牛津现代英汉双解)的付出. 特此专贴, 抛砖引玉, 以期探讨COD9(英汉)的使用. 很正常啊，没有十全十美的词典，根据自己需要选用合适的即可。 COD9是20世纪末出版的，根据为OED，10之后的版本都改为根据ODE。2005年OED收入tank的这个新义项对COD9当然不会有影响 ---

你看OED好仔细，我看了好几遍都没有发现这个解释，因为它列在了这个义项的下面：6. intransitive. In Lawn Tennis, to lose or fail to finish a match deliberately; to default. slang. 但这个义项显然和decline， collapse的含义有较大差别。 ---

一般人真没必要使用OED，查询效率其实很低。 ---

COD 是以英式英文为主， 加上 Concise 纸版又有篇幅厚度的限制， 所以一些源自美国的非正式用法。 比较晚才纳入也是合理的。 ---
