Yesterday, websites hosted at zlib.org and b-ok.org began to display a
message stating that the US DOJ and the Postal Inspection Service had
seized the service.
Friday afternoon’s seizure notice for 3lib.net was updated with
information that indicated the domains had been seized by the FBI and
the United States Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of New York.
WHOIS information initially showed that the U.S. government seized
the domains and switched their DNS servers to NS1.SEIZEDSERVERS.COM and
NS2.SEIZEDSERVERS.COM, two shared DNS servers by the U.S and law
enforcement in domain seizures.
Since then, however, these DNS servers have been moved to Njalla (an
anonymizing hosting provider). Therefore, it needs to be clarified how
Z-Library could transfer these domains to the new host.
