# On/in a cloudy day

看外刊，这里为什么用on 是因为后面跟的是particular day么

grammarly强烈要求要用 on a cloudy day  
oaldl例句也有这个搭配，  
当然我的疑惑是如果不靠死记硬背，看这个PEU好像in/on a \* day 好像都可以用（误？  
iWeb语料库是都有啦

就楼主mdict6对“on a cloudy morning”介词短语的推敲，本人在此“推波助澜”——略谈介词on其中一个义项“during a particular day 在〔某一天〕”的用法（AS MANY EXAMPLES AS POSSIBLE）：

介词on用在某一天，某一天的早晨、中午或晚上。例如：  
①on a cold night 在一个寒冷的夜晚  
②on a quiet evening 在一个宁静的晚上  
③on the eve of the great war 在大战前夜  
④on the morning of July 6 (th) 在7月6日上午  
⑤on a dull afternoon of April 在4月里一个沉闷的下午  
⑥My birthday is on the 30th of May. 我的生日是 30 日。  
⑦on a dismal, grey afternoon在一个阴沉灰暗的下午  
⑧on a rainy Sunday afternoon在一个阴雨绵绵的周日下午  
⑨on such a cold, dreary day在这样一个寒冷、沉闷的日子里  
⑩on a chilly afternoon this week in Vancouver本周在温哥华一个寒冷的下午

下面补充说明介词in义项中之2个义项：  
一、in表示“during a period of time 在…期间  
I earned £75 in a day. 我一天挣了 75 英镑。”  
二、in 表示“at the end of a period of time 在〔某段时间〕之后”  
①I’ll be with you in a minute.  
我马上就到你那儿。  
②The results will be announced in two weeks’ time. 结果将于两周后宣布。  
③She will arrive in twenty minutes. 她将在 20 分钟后到达。  
④He said he would go for a holiday in three weeks. 他说他将在三周后去度假。  
⑤A new treaty will be signed in a few weeks. 新条约将在几周后签署。  
由上述2个介词on和in的义项及例句，便可看出“in/on a \* day 好像都可以用”，它们确实都是地道的英文，可以放心使用，但是2者所指意义截然不同！
